Can this system be used completely off-grid?

Yes — the Walrus G3 Pro is fully off-grid capable.
It’s engineered for independent operation, combining:

-Three 22kWh lithium battery packs (66kWh total),
-A 75A split-phase inverter (22kVA), and
-Dual MPPT solar charge controllers (2 × 5500W)

into a single plug-and-play unit. This design enables seamless performance in cabins, homesteads, off-grid homes, and remote installations — even with no grid access.

The system automatically manages charging from solar and discharging to your loads, offering true energy independence with minimal configuration required.

How much solar input can this system handle?

The Walrus G3 Pro supports up to 11,000W of solar input via two independent MPPT controllers, each capable of handling up to 5,500W (90V–230V, 80A).

Recommended Panel Configurations (with BatteryEVO 550W panels):
We offer a preconfigured 16-panel kit optimized for this system: Total Input: 16 × 550W = 8,800W

Connection Method:
→ Split into 2 groups of 8 panels
→ Each group wired as 2 panels in series × 4 parallel strings (2S4P)
→ One group per MPPT input port

This setup keeps each MPPT controller well within voltage and current limits while maximizing solar harvest.

Can I install this system myself, or do I need an electrician?

If you already have an off-grid setup, installing the Walrus G3 Pro is straightforward. The system uses standard interfaces, including:

-SS2-50P twist-lock plug for AC output;
-Direct wire terminals for AC input, supporting up to 75A.

The AC input wiring requires at least 6 AWG cables for safe operation. While experienced users with electrical backgrounds may handle installation on their own, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed electrician if:

-You’re building a new off-grid system from scratch;
-You need to wire into your home’s main panel or subpanel;
-You are unfamiliar with high-current wiring and safety protocols.

Note: The system does not come with pre-installed input cables, so proper wire sizing and terminal setup are critical for safe operation.
